Which airsoft visor should I buy? - We explain the differences
In general, we distinguish three categories of airsoft visors in our range. There is the simple rear sight, then red dot sights, also known as red dot sights, and last but not least, the sniper sights with magnification. In the following we explain the differences and the purpose of the respective models.
Rear sight & front sight
Rear sight and grain is probably the simplest airsoft visor there is. With this aiming device, which is usually fixed to the weapon, you simply bring the rear sight and the front sight on top of each other in a line of sight. If the rear sight and front sight cross, you can pull the trigger and the airsoft balls land on the target. This type of airsoft visor is simple, inexpensive and almost indestructible. However, its possibilities are also limited. With rear sight and front sight you only shoot in the absolute close range. Eg on QCB fields.
Red dot airsoft visor
A red dot sight, also known as a red dot sight, has an illuminated target reticle. On most models, this is a simple red dot. These sights are used at short and medium shooting distances. The special feature is that you can keep both eyes open when shooting. This gives you a better view of your surroundings. Most Airsoft Red Dot visors have a diameter of 30 to 40mm and thus enable particularly quick and easy target acquisition. The ball lands where the red dot is.
Airsoft visor with magnification
An airsoft sight with magnification , so-called telescopic sights, are usually used by airsoft snipers. An airsoft sniper rifle with a good sight can land accurate hits at very long range. Most of the time, the airsoft sight with magnification is used at distances of at least 50 to 100 meters.
The Airsoft visor increase
The so-called airsoft visor elevation ensures the perfect alignment of your visor. They are available in different lengths and heights. With an Airsoft visor increase you can, as the name suggests, give the visor a few centimeters and thus have easier target acquisition. Especially players with an airsoft protective mask appreciate the few extra centimeters, because it simplifies the handling of the weapon significantly.
Visors are not bulletproof, you should pay attention to this when buying!
An important fact that many players unfortunately like to forget when buying an airsoft visor is that no visor is designed for direct fire. As a rule, when shooting, you look directly through the sight. If a bullet hits the visor, then in real life it also hits the head of the person standing behind it. A visor is neither a bullet stop nor bulletproof. Therefore, direct hits can cause damage. This is by no means a product defect, visors are simply not designed for this. We therefore recommend our customers to order the right visor protective screen with each visor. In case of doubt, this small additional edition can save you the purchase of a new complete visor.
