The airsoft manufacturer Ascend Airsoft is a relatively young manufacturer on the airsoft market and has specialized primarily in optical tuning for Wei-ETech airsoft weapons. The basis for the eye-catching pistol series is a GBB airsoft platform developed by WE Tech. The pistol, which is manufactured in 1/1 scale, is rounded off with a strong recoil and reliable GBB firing system in 6mm BB caliber.
The Ascend DP17 Custom is an improved replica of one of the most iconic modern pistols in the world.
The most important improvements are loading grooves on the slide, clearly visible fiber sights, threads in the barrel and magwell for quick reloading.
The stippled handle is another improvement that allows for better recoil control through increased grip.
The external construction was made of metal and polymer, just like the original. The movable slide and the powerful blowback system give the user a very realistic feeling. In conjunction with the built-in metal inner barrel, the Dp17 Custom achieves a very good shot pattern and a power of up to 1.0 joule with 0.20 BBs.
To create the perfect look, the slide, frame and magazine well have been colored using Ascend Airsoft's special high computer transfer print process. It includes the perfectly matching lettering on the slide such as "Zip it!!" and "Superhero landing!" on the left side and "Say the magic words", "#Teabag", "This End Towards Enemy ->" on the right side. A smiley face and the obligatory unicorn have been printed on the top of the slide using a printing process. The Force version also has an interesting slide design with cut-outs milled out on the sides and top. Through these, the outer barrel can be seen in its sanded vintage look. The grip has the face of the superhero on the left and right. The back of the grip has a very eye-catching "PEW" lettering and a unicorn has been painted on the front.
