Daniel B. Wesson I was the founder of Smith & Wesson together with Horace Smith in 1859. Daniel B. Wesson II (the great-grandson of the S&W founder) founded the company Dan Wesson Firearms in 1963. In this factory, Karl Lewis developed the famous revolver, which was produced there from 1975 to 1989. The revolver was and is particularly used by sport shooters and in hunting.
