The TP9 Elite Combat Airsoft was developed by Canik in collaboration with the industry-leading expert in weapon tuning, Salient Arms International. The ammunition is 6mm BBs. The GBB pistol is built under license from Canik and therefore has all the original markings. The barrel of the airsoft gun is licensed by SAI.

This airsoft weapon is a striker-fired pistol - a system with a pre-tensioned firing pin lock. When the slide is pulled back and released, the firing pin remains at the back and is under spring tension. The trigger releases this tension and allows the shot to be fired. The direct contact between the firing pin and the valve ensures a realistic trigger reaction and fast slide movement.

A hop-up system is located underneath the pistol's slide and can be adjusted without any additional tools. It is also possible to mount a red dot on the optic-ready slide. A Picatinny rail is also milled into the underside of the barrel. The airsoft pistol has a flat-faced trigger for a more realistic shooting experience.

The grip is equipped with a magazine funnel, which enlarges the magazine well in a funnel shape and makes it easier to insert the magazine. The magazine release is reversible. This means that the handgun is suitable for both right-handed and left-handed users.
